Bring it on.

Since this is my first public post regarding my garden, I would be remiss if I did not mention that I have absolutely no idea what the hell I’m doing. When I started my raised bed garden three years ago, I didn’t know what I was doing and I made a lot of mistakes. I still don’t know what I’m doing and I’m making a lot of mistakes. But who gives a shit? I’m having the time of my freakin life out there.

I started sharing weekly updates on a Discord server a couple years back, well into my second year with the beds. And folks loved it! This year I’d like to do things a little differently, because I have a much wider audience to share my journey with. There’s gonna be growing pains, there’s gonna be hiccups. But everyone needs a freakin hobby, you know?

So I have gardening. And now I guess blogging? I am delighted to bring the Garden and CFSL under the same fold of The Cobalt Cottage, which I have grand plans for over the next few years. I wrote a blog post awhile back about the curse of passion projects, and I’m sticking to what I said there. This is for fun, and will remain for fun.

So what can you expect from the new page? Roughly weekly updates on my vegetable garden, strawberry patch, and pollinator garden! I do plan on writing a more official post about the new state of this website, but for now I am just ITCHING to write about planting weekend! So without further ado…bring it on.

Just a nice lil shot of the front garden! There’s a lot in there and I’m not quite sure what the future brings for it, but the primary focus is providing a nice safe home for pollinators!
